Yoga and Pilates Activities on the Outer Banks
If you come to the Outer Banks to overload on beach time, you may not discover the 100-year old Historic Corolla Village. Tucked near the Corolla Chapel, Lovie’s Salon and the Island Bookstore is the Corolla Village yoga studio. Check the website for the most up-to-date yoga offerings and consider pairing your yoga class with some spa services at Lovie’s.
In the heart of Duck, there’s a FREE multi-level yoga class every Tues from June 13 to September 5 (excluding July 4) at 7:30 am. The teachers of Duck Village Yoga lead the class and encourage you to bring a yoga mat or beach towel or you’ll find yourself covered in grass since this takes place on the lovely town green, weather permitting.
You can get a one-week pass at the Outer Banks Family YMCA in Nags Head and enjoy an array of fitness classes taught by some of the area’s most beloved teachers. Try the Monday 7:30 am Pilates Class with Kerry Sanders or the 7 am Wednesday Yoga class with Anne Howard. Passes are $75 for one person and $95 for the whole family. Bonus: the kids will love the outdoor pool.
Curious about yoga on a stand-up paddleboard? SUP Yoga classes are offered every Friday at 9:30 am at Ocean Air Adventure Center in Avon beginning June 16. Just bring $35, a swimsuit and a winning attitude, according to their website. Call Amy for more info at 252-305-2075.
And no matter where you are along the Outer Banks, I’d love to come to you and provide your group with a private yoga class by the pool or at the beach anytime.
